I just got a new computer (Win 11) and my Forte Agent didn't transfer,
so I've set up Thunderbird for Usenet.

Indeed. Many people on rasff may fail to see them because they
have cross-posts killfiled. (I saw both of them, as I don't block
crossposts, though I've come close to doing so.)

Welcome back! The only likely way you would have been able to continue using Agent would be to run it in a virtual machine, on an older copy of Windows.

Yeah, the three groups I put on Thunderbird.

No one on alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent is complaining about
Win11. I'm running Agent 1.93 on Win10 with no problems.

I'm not saying he should try again, if he's happy with Thunderbird.
But it's unlikely he'd need a VM to run it in if he wants to try.

I did not have any trouble reinstalling my Forte Agent Version 5 from 2008 under Windows 10 and then more recently under Windows 11.

Interesting. Tim appears to have been running: ForteAgent/8.00.32.1272 -- you're running Forte Agent 5.00/32.1171 -- if I'm interpreting that right, they're both 32-bit, so if it works for you, I guess it should work for him
    as well.

It's a bloody pain having to change software, especially when you've been
using the same program for a long time.
