    I actually thought the Dalek's multi-functional claw looked quite
    good... if only they had thought of something like that in 1963!

    They may well have done, but the plunger was simply easier and cheaper
    for the FX department to do ... it was the 1960s and cheap BBC special
    effects. ;-)
