    "Standard" Oak Wall Telephones

These are all similar with minor variations in size, lightning arrestor configuration, etc. Some have nametags, labels or marked parts, usually the transmitter faceplate, some don't. This is what most people think of as an "oak wall phone". The "
Cathedral Top" and "Picture Frame Front" indicate that the phone is no later than 1915.

Cathedral Top, Picture Frame Fronts (Pre-1915) telephone are $250 - $265 each. They are complete, original, and usually not refinished. Brass tag indicate a stamped brass nameplate.

    "Fiddleback" Style Wall Telephones

To me, this is the most stylish form of wall telephone, looking something like a "fiddle"
with the thin neck and wider body.

    "Two-Box" Wall Telephones

These telephones are again fairly similar, a differentiating feature of some is the width of the
bottom box. The bottom box held the batteries, usually glass jars with electrodes inside. A "single jug" phone usually had a straight backboard and held 1 battery, and "2-jug" and "3-jug" phones have a backboard that widens at the bottom to
    accommodate more batteries.

Oak Western Electric wide bottom box 3jug, rare $1000
Oak Viaduct 2-box with celluloid nametag - $325
