I've tried a few other free servers as well. Anyone know what the problem
could be or how to fix it?

    Thanks

Replying to my own post. This is really strange. I can post in alt groups >> and can make a new post in rec.arts.tv but when I reply to anyone, my posts >> never appear in that group. Even though they look like they're being sent. >> I've checked with google groups and nothing appears there either.

    1) Start a reply to this message. Before you send it, look carefully
at the "Newsgroups:" field on the composition window. Does the
    "Newsgroups:" field say "alt.usenet.offline-reader.forte-agent",
or does it show another newsgroup there?

    2) Now go to your Sent messages folder and look _carefully_ at the
copies of those sent messaged which did not appear. In the sent
message, is the newsgroup "rec.arts.tv" or is it some other group?

    3) I am guessing that your followups which did not appear were
followups to someone who set a "Followup-To:" header in his or
her post (deliberately, to prevent your post from appearing in
rec.arts.tv). FYI that is more likely to happen when you are
involved in a heated discussion around politics not TV.

If that is the case, then I suggest that you add "Followup-To"
to the NewsBaseFields setting in AGENT.INI. That will show at
the top of the body when someone has set a "Followup-To:" header.
    See "Help >> Index >> .INI file >> AGENT.INIO >> [Article] >> NewsBaseFields="

    Thank you.

I'll check that out but I was able to get everything working again by
simply installing a clean version of Agent with everything at
    defaults.

A lot of crap builds up in 20 years and I've been installing new
versions over old for that long. I wasn't even able to respond to
my own posts in rec.arts.tv but it worked fine in alt.test and in here
and another group I post to. I've never seen anything like that
    before.
