Update on the situation in Lahaina, the Hawai’ian city (and former royal capital) that suffered so badly from the wildfires a few months ago,
repeated a concern that many of the residents expressed back then: that “disaster capitalists” would come in and buy up land from those who cannot afford to rebuild (largely indigenous Hawai’ians), thereby dispossessing
them in favour of wealthier newcomers.

Not something you could imagine happening here--at least not yet.
