So you believe the medical face-mask is a display of low IQ. Tell that
to the doctors who continue to use them regularly - particularly for
operations or when seeing patients who may have Covid . . .

I don't see why anyone would think it a good idea to borrow to
purchase a car - clearly you associate with idiots

New Zealand does not use coal power very often, so that bit is
    irrelevant to New Zealand.

What we should be concerned about however is the amount New Zealand
may have to pay if we do not meet emission reduction targets -
remember that international agreement that Paula Bennett signed us up
    to all those years ago?

As the page says - "True Lies"

The Clean Energy Transistion, 4 parts, on the substack, https://substack.com/@bushfoodforager
link are worth a read. (77min read total)

Good to see people are producing the "opposition" to the "new, and improved ideas".

I stopped reading when I got to "The electric vehicle will soon be
like the medical face mask—another public display of low IQ."

While there may be a few pertinent facts in the article anyone who
writes emotive claptrap like that gets the 'stop reading' downtick
    from me.

I agree that EVs are not a panacea as was used to justify subsidies
here - but those subsidies (on purchase) are gone and (on RUCs) about
    to go.

I chose to buy a used BEV for 2 reasons: it is the perfect short-trip
vehicle (does not suffer from startup running with no lubricating oil)
and is cheap to run (even with RUCs) and maintain (as long as the
motive battery lasts). It still requires regular maintenance - but
not to the drive-chain, only to braking, the wheel components and
    battery chiller.
