• David Seymour Vs TVNZ

From Lawrence D'Oliveiro@21:1/5 to All on Thu Mar 7 06:26:35 2024
Is David Seymour exceeding the limits of his authority as Shareholder
Minister for TVNZ, by making comments about the news coverage of the
latter? He seemed to think Kiri Allan was doing so when she criticized
Radio NZ, yet insists the same rule doesn’t apply to him.

Just as with Winston Peters and the “bribery” nonsense, Luxon
basically doesn’t want to know. He’s supposed to be in charge of this
mob, but it’s clear he’s afraid to lay down the law to his coalition partners, otherwise they might walk and bring his Government down.

There is an old Italian saying: “the fish rots from the head”. If the leader is weak, then the coalition is doomed anyway.

What would you call it when a government hands out 55 mill of
    taxpayer's money with strings attached?

    Bill.

Bribery. But Lawrence and his fellow travellers don't do balance.

Contracts, but these were open to the public as to what the money had
to be spent on. You can look and see how much Newshub received for
example and what programmes it was used for. Most (and possibly all)
delivered domestic production of programmes, supporting New Zealand.

How does that differ from the money that the Hon Shane Jones is
    spending on regional development?

You would rather they didn’t have strings attached?
