• Elsewhere In Warner Brothers Discovery Land ...

You may or may not know that the multinational megacorp that owns TV3
and Newshub has been up to some interesting antics elsewhere in its
    empire <https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2024/03/its-kind-of-depressing-wb-discovery-pulls-indie-game-for-business-changes/>.

Basically, besides releasing some actual flops, this company is
killing off entire lines of its business wholesale, deleting older
content that some people still want to consume, even cancelling
nearly-finished films just for tax purposes. It even looked at getting
into a merger with another debt-laden company, only to realize (long
after everybody else had figured it out) that it was a bad idea.

You get the feeling that our piddling little Newshub is being canned,
not because it’s an actual drag on the company (probably too small to
matter, let’s face it), but because it’s fallen victim to some
    internal politics.

You may get that feeling, but my feeling is that they would have
folded up long ago but for getting its share of the Labour $52,000,000
media news doshout. The new TVNZ payroll cuts support that.
