I only read the first part of the article, where someone was arguing
that because a lot of people caught Covid at one time that meant that
vaccines are not efficacious. That is like saying that a pile up on a
motorway means that road laws don't work.

Covid is an infectious disease. Many people have kept up with
vaccinations, and that is clearly keeping the number of infections
down; but gatherings of people are still able to give rise to
infections. We know that from the flu vaccine - it reduces the number
of colds we get but since viruses are frequently mutating, it will not
prevent all infections. Dr Reti is currently concerned about such
infections in Northland, and is seeking help from Maori organisations
to try to reduce the risk.

Gatherings of people who have not seen each other for a while are
susceptible to viruses being spread - it is one of the reasons that
school children returning to school are likely to give rise to
infections that keep many away from school for a time.

There has been an enormous amount of discussion on this topic over the
last few years, and still is - you hatred for Shane Reti and other
medical people is clearly distorting your comments, Tony. I am sorry
to burst your bubble, but the politicians will not stop the spread of
viral infections this year or even next year . . .

    Love that elephant.

It is also important to ponder upon, and consider if NZF was not part of
    this Government.

    From the article

" Fortunately, probably due to the good offices of Hon. Winston Peters,
Deputy Prime Minister, the Commission has just announced it intends to “expand the COVID-19 Inquiry’s terms of referenceâ€.

Finally, the 27 September version once again just goes to show the, We are

Well there you are - you have not read it, you are therefore incompetent to comment on it.
So presumably everything you wrote afterwards is pointless. I have therefore assisted you in that.

Indeed I too found it concerning, as I have some previous YouTube
    videos from this presenter.

    See:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Campbell_(YouTuber)

New Zealand was very fortunate to have had a number of well respected
medical specialists and other scientists giving commentary on Covid
and related issues. The most well known now is probably Michael Baker
    - he has been on the news recently regarding the signs of increased
risk of influenza infection this year), - see https://www.pmscienceprizes.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Communicator-prize-Michael-Baker-full-media-release.pdf
    and https://www.otago.ac.nz/otagomagazine/issue53/features/behind-nzs-covid-response

Shaun Hendy did a lot of independent modeling, and Siouxsie made
significant contributions in plain speaking on media to support and
further interpreting how the technical issues lead to recommended
actions - with great cartoon assistance from . Sadly they were
attacked by some who sought to create problems for the government, but
who could forget the cartoons put together by Siouxsie and Toby
    Morris: https://thespinoff.co.nz/media/07-09-2021/the-great-toby-morris-siouxsie-wiles-covid-19-omnibus

Siouxsie in particular received disgraceful personal attacks because
she was a prominent female - we saw some of the worst aspects of
deranged male attackers, often seeking in a very Trump-like way to
destroy credibility of those seeking to discredit the very good
results New Zealand was achieving on the response to Covid, both with
respect to economic impact and the lowest death rate in the world.

Expanding the Covid 19 Inquiry's terms of reference. In general I
believe there is nothing wrong with including that enquiry - see https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/government-consults-expanding-covid-19-inquiry-terms-reference
but it would be appropriate to get interim reports as they move
through the terms of reference they already had - expanding terms
should not be used to delay reports, conclusions and issues arising
from the previous terms and coverage, and it may also be appropriate
to appoint different or additional people as the subject issues
dictate. There may be the usual stupid criticism from the "NZ
Taxpayers Union", but that can be dismissed as just part of their
cover for their real agenda of Atlas Network political objectives . .
