    Labour dogma versus facts. https://thebfd.co.nz/2024/02/01/nicole-mckee-smashes-labour-with-facts/
Thanks to a friend who sent me the link, maybe I will visit the BFD from time to time.
The register idea failed last time, why would it work this time?
Has it worked anywhere? I doubt it.
And it seems it would not have picked up anything anyway - dogma, politics and anti-democratic ideas courtesy of the last government.
I have no axe to grind - I handed in my firearms licence many years ago and gave my guns to a farmer.

Well congratulations on finding a friend, but I am sad that whoever it
was seems to have misled you and prompted you to break your stated
policy of not reading political blogs.

There is no evidence in the video clip or the written comments to
indicate that the register has failed; but it does seem to indicate
hat their should be higher penalties for being in possession of an
unregistered firearm - by seeking to move the register to work more
like motor vehicle registration that may happen.

As the comments under the article indicate the Register is recent -
"this allegedly vast problem has only two recent examples and that
they were caught doing it WITHOUT the register being in place!"

Australia also introduced a gun register after a mass shooting; New
Zealand was late in introducing one here.

There have been instances of guns being stolen from vehicles other
than Police vehicles - and also from buildings that did not have
    adequately secure storage.

the examples given in the commentary of police having to give notice
of an inspection does appear to be nonsense, as is the suggestion
that registration can be made over the telephone. There is also the
implication that the requirement to have firearms registered was
spread over far too long a period - can you thin of any reason why any
period longer than say 6 months was allowed? A useful change that the
new government may wish to consider is requiring all firearms to carry
a serial number and that all changes of ownership be reported on a
similar basis to the registration of ownership changes for motor
    vehicles.

Good on you for not having guns, Tony - there are various tests that
are now required to hold a license, but voluntarily relinquishing
ownership has been a smart move by many New Zealanders

But if you are going to read political blogs now, Tony, I do suggest
that the bfd is nearly as one of the most blatantly dishonest and
furthest towards the deranged end of any such blog.

    That was not my policy.
Unlike you, if someone sends me a link and I trust that person I will read it. You on the other hand diligently follow blogs, but then you have nothing else and no friends.

Clearly you did not read the article, do try again, perhaps with an interpreter assisting you. It accurately reported that such registers do not work anywhere else.

As the comments under the article indicate the Register is recent -
"this allegedly vast problem has only two recent examples and that

What - please do revise that.

Australia also introduced a gun register after a mass shooting; New
Zealand was late in introducing one here.
    Doesn't work there either.

There have been instances of guns being stolen from vehicles other

    adequately secure storage.
    Evidence?

Some of us decided to no longer shoot critters, your reason for relinquishing truth is similar.
Your sarcasm is no better I see.

    Lie removed.
