So the price has been released $80K. Now what do we get for this warranty
    wise.

    A photo caption says

"All models get a three year or 100,000 km warranty, and a five year
or 160,000km 70% degradation warranty on the battery."

Leaving side the ambigity of 70% or 30% left at the end of 5 years and
assume it is 70% of the 71.4kWh when new. 2WD model has 516km range under
    test conditions.

So at the end of 5 years this is 70% or 361km, a difference of 155km. Not an inconsiderable distance on a road trip.

So at 5 years we kind of need to replace the battery. What cost is this?

Even if the battery last 10 years, that is $4,000/yr for the battery
assuming cost of battery half the cost of new car.

More to the point the warranty suggests that the battery only last 5 years,
so the 7 year figure we have been hearing about in the real world is looking about right. $40,000/7= $5700 per year.

Yes - more questions than answers with EVs still.

Absolutely - but life is like that. What will the price of petrol be
    in two years time, Tony?

Your local Toyota dealer would I am sure be happy to answer your
question about degradation of the battery. He is less likely to be
able to indicate what a new battery will cost in 10 years time, but
then you will not get any meaningful idea from anyone of the price of
    petrol or diesel in 5 or 10 years time . . . .

A little homily, where did you borrow that from?
What will the price of petrol be
    in two years time, Tony?
A question as profound as the homily, perhaps you could ask a 5 year old for a question to pose here - it will be better than that one.
