"Hipkins says Kiwis fed up being 'held to ransom' by Peters"
Back in 2017 this Labour party was delighted to be a part of the ransom demanded of this country - and if the worst possible thing happens and Labour
with NZ First could make it happen again, this hypocritical Labour party would
    do it in a moment.
Rhetoric is all they have, there is no record of success for this lot.
Hipkins is avoiding the fact New Zealand is fed up with Labour as well!

I think it fair to say that the majority of people are fed up to the back
    teeth with Winston's behaviour.

Now we have the MMP system and there are a few ways to consider the way
things operate throughout the election cycle. Nz want MMP to stop the FPP unrepresentive results. There is little point in MMP if there are only two major parties, or parties which are joined at the hip, eg Labour and Greens are.

An arguement goes that when the Government shuts up shop for the elections, every party is on their own. The coalition agreement(s) are over. Each party tires to get as many seats as possible. We are starting over, reseting the Government. This allow us to move on and not hark back of what the oppostion did while in Government.

After the elections there are 120 MPs whose task it is to form the
Government. It is highly likely that there will be a "power broker" and if a party finds itself in that position is should negotiate to get as many of
its mandate items into the coalition agreement.

I really think that Winston could do alot better in the "how" the
negotations are done. Old dogs and new tricks.
