The Herald reports:
Marsh said the number of people subject to electronically monitored bail had increased from 495 at 30 June 30 2017 to 2345 at June 30 2023.
This is in line with government policy to reduce the prison population by 30%. So who has EM bail:
Nearly 50 people are on EM bail for “homicide and related offences
70 accused of kidnapping and abduction
131 robbery
465 grievous assaults
211 serious assaults
64 sexual offending
211 burglary and car conversions
179 firearms offences.
Not exactly jaywalking offence are they.
Justice under Labour sees kidnappers, robbers, assaulters, sex offenders etc on community sentences as Labour actively seek to empty out the prisons.
This is what happens under the woke thing disease. Aim is to lower prision numbers so put them some place else. No worries about if this is suitable,
we have lowered the prisioner numbers they tell you and they can not see anything else.
People feel unsafe in their communities thanks to Labour.
The election cannot come soon enough. It will be gratifying to see the Labour caucus empty out just like they emptied out the prisons.
