Our PM has quoted as saying

“The National, ACT, New Zealand First coalition of cuts, chaos and confusion hold a compilation of views I think would alienate large sections of our society,” he said.

This is one of those throw away statements, however the PM seems to have forgotten what Labour did in the name of the covid narrative. Also how the Government treated a section of the country's people, surely that was alienation? To be fair that was all the MP's.

In any democracy there will be some people who are "alienated" from the Governments' action. However the way this works is that Free Speech powers
up and a debate can follow.

Later on the page the PM is quoted as saying

"National, ACT and NZ First are focused on dividing New Zealand," he said.
"As political leaders we have choices, to play into fear or to be optimistic and seek solutions that benefit us."

Well, just remember back to Covid and the narrative as well as the last 6
years and it was the Government which has done the fear making, and the dividing society, while seeking of solutions have been few and far between. Those were the choices made make a political leader.

Right now this country needs a leader, could one please come forward.

Yes that would be nice - however -
What HIpkins is doing is what he promised a few days ago, to play the fear game. That is nasty politics - the real nasty party is in place.
However Labour have always done this sort of thing when they are losing, it is in their DNA.
Also to suggest that "National, ACT and NZ First are focused on dividing New Zealand," is hypocrisy of the highest possible order when you consider that 3/10 waters and he puapua are exactly aimed at doing that.
He is making a serious mistake I believe, we are not as stupid as he arrogantly hopes we are - New Zealanders will see through this nasty little game and metaphorically throw him out of the beehive with gusto.

I hope you are right. Hipkins has already demonstrated that Labours
approach to the election campaign is 'win at all cost'. He has
already abandoned any pretence at campaigning on what Labour have
achieved in the last 6 years of Government and this is a huge pointer
in how invested he is in his ;win at all cost' approach. Labours
leadership under Ardern is a record they dare not defend. I cannot
recall any incumbent PM, regardless of party, that has campaigned for re-election on this principle, and I hope that no party is so
desperate as to ever do this again.

How much of this stems from the water reforms legislation? All of it,
    it would seem.
