• Never heard of them, results abound

While I was carrying out my daily life I came across
http://freedomsnz.org.nz which is a group which formed as a result of the Governent's response/narrative to Covid.

Brian Tamaki, who is well known, is the leader.

So at that point I thought lets carry on as see what they say

    https://www.freedomsnz.org.nz/brian-tamaki-launches-his-controversial-time-to-stop-crime-policy

    Quote

Tamaki expands by saying, “It’s time to also address the man problem in New Zealand. Too many fathers are absent in the lives of our young people. Statistics show that 65% of youth offenders do not live with their fathers.
And when our politicians can’t define ‘what a woman is’, there’s no chance
they’ll be able to define what a man is. I want to introduce a Minister
for Men, a genuine Kiwi bloke that can restore masculinity, restore
fatherhood and a man’s responsibility for his family.”

    ....

    Quote

“Hipkins, Luxon and Seymour hardly have the credentials to deal with
the Māori crime reality. I know how to be tough on crime, and tender
with rehabilitation and support. If you can front up with a Māori
leader who is currently achieving better results than what I’m
doing through my ManUp programme, with no taxpayer money, can you
    please let me know!”

So let us see what man up is all about.

    https://www.manup.org.nz/about-us

Oh, look at that it appears that they have programme and that some anti
social men have been put back on the track and have stayed on it.

So that explains why I have not heard of it. It has been a great success on
a shoestring. Those kind of stories seldom get into the MSM.

It is amazing how the woke folks just do not accept anything else other than their view of the world, or can not see/understand it.

Here we have a plan which works, but cancelled/no intested in it by the Government. Much the same for ivermectin during covid.

A few million dollars of tax payers money would up scale the ouput and more families, men and society as a whole would be better off.

    (Apologies for the length.)

I agree that programs such as Man Up need to be encouraged but not
necessarily in the form of taxpayer support.

Destiny Church is to religion what NZ First is to politics - both
organisations led by founders that have earned significant wealth
through these organisations. Both leaders have created organisations
that significantly benefit the part of our society they are involved
with but it is very likely that both organisations will wither and
fold eventually when their founders pass or move on.

The Man Up website does not explain the legal nature of the
organisation (charity, trust or incorporated society) although it
lists its leaders and is referenced by the Destiny Church website.
There have been public endorsements of the program by the Tamakis.

Unless Man Up is a properly-constituted organisation it should not
receive taxpayer support. Note that there is a Man Up Trust, but it
clearly has Trustees and objectives quite different to the Man Up
organisation referenced in Gordon's original post.
