• A wasted space in Parliament

From Crash@21:1/5 to All on Tue Aug 22 19:32:36 2023
    MP for Whangarei: Emily Henderson

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/300954829/nz-election-2023-live-labour-mps-give-valedictory-speeches

    Scroll down to this:

"Henderson started her speech saying she never stood for Parliament to
become an MP, but in a protest against the National Party who she said
    had taken Northland for granted."

To admit to this is a gross indictment of Labour: no electorate
candidate should ever stand for reasons such as this, much less admit
to it in their valedictory speech.

Yes many electorates were unexpectedly won by Labour in 2020 but this
is an astonishing admission that cements 2020 as the election when
worthless Labour MPs were forced into Parliament by an unexpected
    result.

Never mind, hopefully Whangarei will have a better-qualified
electorate MP in the next term, and it will not be as useless as
    Henderson was.

Amazing! Nothing less than Monthy Python sketch material.

It shows that the Labour Party, after 3 years in power, did not have enough people to fill the possible positions. As I often say, place the right label
on Mickey Mouse and he will get in.

At least Emily was being honest and transparent.

Yeah - but only at the very end.
