The government on Wednesday night put through a bill to lower the voting age at local elections to 16.
Not a word in any of the MSM sources I have seen.
So they sneak it in under urgency hoping that we won't notice.
This done by the party that would most benefit from it.
Something this important must be debated and the voters must be given a chance to say their piece.
    Unconscionable, undemocratic and more desperation.
For Rich80105 who will love this bit of trickery, I am not commenting on whether the voting age should change.
That is not the subject of this thread.
It is about a sneaky government and a paid MSM (towing the line).

I heard it reported; and clearly you did as well. The Bill still has
to go through a number of stages in the house. Do you object to what
is proposed? I suspect the National Party wish they had put it up as a
    members bill . . .

Perhaps you have forgotten hat there is an election coming up, Tony?

No I did not and I dont believe you.

As explained that is off topic so go away little man.

Why would they, they are opposed to it I suspect.

Perhaps you have forgotten hat there is an election coming up, Tony?
Perhaps you are a sarcastic fool.

Even stupider than your usual posts Rich. Why would National give the vote to kids, many of who deny the evidence of their gender?

Perhaps you have forgotten hat there is an election coming up, Tony?
Considering how many dodgy bills and policy's Labour has pushed through in the last week it's obvious to all except comprehensionless fools like you Rich!

Can be seen here (and nowhere else it seems):

    https://bills.parliament.nz/v/6/0aba4b2e-edc6-4a27-c01a-08db9d132713?Tab=history

There is no point in putting bills into Parliament now - because under
normal circumstances it is impossible to get to Royal Assent before
the house rises for the last time this term.

It is either going to be passed using Labour's majority and urgency,
or it will be left to the new Government to progress. The only
motivation for using urgency is to get the bill passed before Labour's >current majority is ended - but even then if the new Government is >National-led then this new Act could be repealed.

    Muddled thinking methinks.

    Agreed, at best.
