• Labour are so desperate for votes they tell flat out lies

From JohnO@21:1/5 to All on Sun Aug 13 14:59:47 2023
GST off fruit and veg won't work as claimed. Robertson knows it. The 2018 Tax Working Group knows it. The economists and tax experts all know it. Even Chipkins knows it.

Yet Labour are out there pushing this policy. The policy Robertson called a 'boondoggle'. For the dimwits like Dickbot here's what a 'boondoggle' is:
"Boondoggle" : noun. : "an unnecessary, wasteful, or fraudulent project."

Let that sink in: Grant Robertson is standing up, holding a straight face and telling you that what in his opinion is "an unnecessary, wasteful, or fraudulent project" is now Labour tax policy.

Economists are estimating the consumer will get back 30% of the GST removal. The rest is swallowed up by the supermarket duopoly and compliance cost. That's right folks, this Labour government is so bereft of honesty, credibility and intelligence that
they would spend $2 billion to perhaps give Kiwis back $600 million, and give accountants, lawyers and supermarkets $1.4 billion.

These Muppets should be in jail instead of parliament. This is criminal.

What is going to happen is the the overall cost of this will Cost more to
the average family than at present. There will be a whole industry built up about the GST or lack there of. Well for starters there will be whether or
not x or y is a fruit and how the hell do we make sure the the supermarkets
are not playing by the rules. The Supermarkets will also need to ensure that they are not adding GST to all FAV (fruit and veg).

Now this loss of GST is worth $2billion so where does this come from?

Okay, this is what the people want, so for now Democracy rules. Okay.

Okay, this is what the people want, so for now Democracy rules. Okay. Governments are allowed to make errors, this one however has overflowed its allocation.
Spending 2 billion dollars to give people about one tomato is abusive. Robertson knows that but has been overuled.

They must have been using Rich to do the GST calculations. There's a $240 million hole in it :)

We all know where the $2 bill will come from. Increased taxes on
everything else so people will be way worse off.
