Thought for a second your header was about your inglorious Labour government. Besides it may have slipped your notice yet again. but National isn't government yet...

Rich you don't get it despite repeated and very pointed advice. The
Taxpayers Union is not necessarily concerned about political parties
that are not a part of the Government.

National are the opposition. Their promises are not a concern unless
you believe they are certain to form or lead our next government. Are
you criticising the Taxpayers Union for not critiquing the next
    government's policies?

If they are really wanting less waste by government then yes of course
they should question any proposals. After all, there is an election
this year. Perhaps the NZ Taxpayer Union believe that the chance of
National actually being in government to waster this sort of money is
so low that it does not need to be questioned - but it would not make
sense to think that the people running the Taxpayer Union are not
    supporters of two particular parties.

Don't talk utter politicised bullshit! With all the weird stuff going on with Labour and it's determination to force 10 waters through till October they haven't got a snowballs chance in hell! And_you_know_it!

Even a five year old is smarter than that comment. Of course it is reasonable to assume they will do what they always have, that is try to keep the incumbent government honest - whichever government that is at any time. That is their past history.

You are illogical with this statement - you are suggesting that the
Taxpayers Union not only critique the government of the day but also
all the Opposition parties. What nonsense.

After all, there is an election

Perhaps the Taxpayers Union should concentrate their meager resources
on what they are currently doing - criticising the Government of the
day for what they are actually doing. Far more rational and logical
    to your suggestion Rich.
