• A tale of two hypocrites

From JohnO@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jun 26 14:13:55 2023
    It's a "climate emergency".

Luxon family buys a Tesla. You'd think that would be applauded. Luxon family claims rebate despite opposition to policy.

Chippie flies a delegation to China in an old, inefficient B757 with a second one flying as a backup in case the first one falls over. He could have flown everyone commercially in a fuel efficient modern aircraft at a fraction of the cost and emissions.

Which one is the real hypocrite?

Which story had the most coverage in the MSM?

$55mil gets you a lot of sympathetic media coverage and your opposition a lot of media criticism.

He did get quite a bit of credit for supporting the policy - but a bit
of derision for his complaints about it!

Luxon - He knows the importance of the visit to China, and that the
care taken to ensure they are on time will be noticed and appreciated
by China. He should also know that, just as in Education and Health,
National talks big about Police and Defence, but when in office
starves them of funds (and spends more on prisons). He should know
that the replacement of the Air Force planes is being done as part of
planned spending to upgrade a lot of Defence capability - with
priorities relating to Defence rather than a leader's ego.

John Key was seen as a ''man of the people'' by carefully arranged ''walk-abouts'' so that he could be seen to be a normal person - "Me
First" Luxon ordered a crown limousine to travel 200 metres for his
first appearance at Parliament as a minor party leader . . .

Which story had the most coverage in the MSM?
The visit to China - much more important than all the rest.

$55mil gets you a lot of sympathetic media coverage and your opposition a lot of media criticism.
    What are you talking about?

We already know you are dumb, Dickbot, no need to shout it from the rooftops. He is such a laugh eh, half way to being witty.

Okay so the Goverment does this deal with NZ Steel to save x tones of CO2 by going to electric furnaces.

It then decides to "private" fly to China, but it not sure that the 30 year
old B757 will be able to make it, after all doing the 7 previous legs
without incident was a surprise. So it needs another plane as back up in
case the first one fails. So now we have two planes powering out CO2 worse
    than the private jet folks.

That is pure hypocritical, top level on the scale.

As the article says that this issuse needs to be fixed. A poly partisan approach is needed. All agree on a plane the $ to buy and fit out and then inform the people. Heads of countries do need their own plane. Leaving aside the matter of CO2 production.

This is another matter where all the MP need to be adult and set aside the politics.
