First a small correction. This is the Hipkins Government revision of
the Ardern Government introduction of the principles of the He Puapua
brought into a centralised and co-governed delivery of water-based
services nationwide. The latest iteration is simply that for south of Auckland, there are 9 water entities where there were 3. For
Northland and Auckland there is no change. All the core reasons to
reject the Water Reforms that Labour have introduced (regardless of
who is PM) remain.
There is no point in submitting anything that opposes this
legislation. These submissions will only ever be heard if Labour are re-elected and as in the past major objections will be ignored just as
they were with the original legislation now passed.
If National are elected then all existing legislation will be repealed
and this Bill will clearly be dropped.
