    Where ever you stand politically, each election should be "fight" for the votes.

    This is starting to look like Luxon has found his mojo and has his skates
    on. Now Labour is going to have to start defending its last term in
    office.

    What is needed is for this country to get back to the way it was pre Covid.

    Oh and by the way, we do not want one party to have the absolute majority.
    We have seen what damage can be done if this is the case.

    The political scene in place leading up to election day in 2020 is
    unlikely to be replicated ever again, so a future single-party
    majority government is unlikely. Add to that, both Labour and
    National have changed leaders since then.

    Luxon's speech at a National party conference follows the same formula
    for all political leaders to the annual party meeting. A change in
    theme over a number of events is needed before we can correctly judge
    whether Luxon is changing tack for the better.
