    So Waititi believes the local Iwi should be left to control the
    situation? Media are to be banned from reporting the antics of gang
    members because that is inflammatory?

    Death is an everyday event, as are funerals and all the associated
    grief and mourning. Those involved though don't usually terrorise
    whole communities as reported in Opotiki.

    To John Waititi - if your Iwi cannot mourn the passing of a member
    without causing a town to be shut down, then you should concentrate
    your efforts at fixing this rather than grandstanding about what our
    elected leaders have to say.

    Waititi is one of the worst racists in government at present. I'm kind of glad he and his co leader don't bother to attend much. If he manages by some miracle to actually be the kingmaker there'll be trouble that'll make the events at parliament last
    year look like a peaceful protest and it'll have a good sprinkling of iwi members in it!
