"A good article to highlight how absurd personality politics has got.
So many comments below who focus negatively on Luxon completely avoid acknowledging the incompetent performance of Hipkins, yet think he
is a nice chap. I want a Govt that gets done what they said they would
do and stop dividing the country by telling us how we should think.
I want the person who leads that doing Govt to lead it, not spin it.
Roll on October."
To me this sums it up.
While it is true that in the past we have have emphasis placed on the
leader along with the party policy, it now seems that we are entering a
phase of ignoring what the Government has done and what the oppostion
offers, and can they carry it out.
At this point in the election cycle the electorate should be reviewing
both the Government's performance against a mandate, and the opositions performance. Not whether they are likeable people.
As it does seem we have now real policies out as yet and no achievement
we are left with having to play the person not the ball. Pretty sad
really on several levels.
