So we have the tax payer paying an Estimated $140m ($28 for each man, woman
and child in NZ). Makes the $5 prescription charge to kind of tiny.

There will be an extra 30MW load on the grid, let us hope that the lights do not do out. The steel mill says thay can reduce power when required. How
ever the cycling down and up process will not be a two minute process. Devil
    in the detail.

Still anything past 14 October does need to be considered.

Thought - so they plan to save 0.8m tonnes of CO2 (per year) one does
wonder if lowering coal burnt at Huntly for 2377GWH in 2021 might have had
    the same result in CO2.

In a similar vein, if the network and the generation capacity can stand and extra 33MW load, why was coal burnt without having this load on the
    capacity.

More virtue signalling bullshit from a government that bases it's policies on it! It won't make an iota of difference to the generation of carbon on planet earth and the long suffering taxpayer has to foot the bill!
Maybe we should look at those who blindly support Labours virtue signalling and charge them 70-90% tax on all income to pay for these pipe dreams...
