• Labour stuck with Water Reforms legislation?

This comes as no surprise to me, but I am surprised that PM Hipkins
has used such strong language to describe opponents of this
legislation. I repeat my prediction that this will be the downfall of
    the Labour government.

Hipkins joins a long line of politicians who totally underestimate the intelligence of the population.
He is doubling down on 3 waters (now renamed) and protecting Mahuta by suggesting that she was not previously protected.
The Maori caucus is at work still. And Hipkins is powerless to do the correct thing.
I hope, fervently, that you are correct Crash otherwise I fear bloodshed and that must not be allowed to happen.

Hipkins has few options and all of them are bad. I do not believe
there will be bloodshed - that is not in our DNA - because the
election coming up will see the Water Reforms repealed by National.

Hipkins has said what he needs to say to keep his government together,
but characterising Water Reform opponents as racist and failing to
understand the reforms is so offensive to the large numbers of us who
see it for what it is. Labour are doomed - they have legislated
nationwide control of all water assets to an elite cabal without first
debating their intent prior to the last election.

The only obstacle standing in the way of National/ACT is being seen as
    worse than Labour.

Good to see that the other party members had Nanaia Mahuta her back. It is either that they thought it was all welcome legislation or that Mahuta was capable. Another case of not thinking it through.

No arguement from me regarding the 3 waters causing Labour's downfall. The question is when.
