• Another case of natural immunity

From Gordon@21:1/5 to All on Thu Apr 6 04:20:29 2023
Throught the Covid pandemic the cocept of natural immunity was not uttered once. It was like it did not exist. And yet here we have the rabbits showing
us what happens. There is a fight back by the rabbits at least twice.

The risk is that someone will try for a gain of function on this and it will
be good also at having nasty affect on people.

Meanwhile this is a good case for the way deals to a new virus.

"RHDV was first introduced illegally in South Canterbury in 1997,
when it decimated booming rabbit populations. Another Korean
strain was legally imported and released in early 2018.

The virus can affect rabbit populations when immunity is low,
but it is not an effective long-term management solution,
    a council spokesperson said."
