• So Labour's done a good job?

From John Bowes@21:1/5 to All on Mon Mar 13 14:10:56 2023
I had to laugh at a couple of convenient idiots on Twitter who were claiming this! They ignore the fact that housing is still shocking (KiwiBuild a total failure). Health is still a shambles, government debt is the highest it's ever been and the cost of
living is becoming unaffordable for many and not just those on the bottom rung of the socio economic ladder because inflation is at record levels! Union action for pay is high and the government is making record tax takes!! The energy industry has pushed
up the cost of energy for no known reason, their profits are feeding the governments spendthrift ways. Oh and almost everything is supposedly affected by climate change!!!

Yet the polls show that New Zealand wants a Labour/Green/Paorangi party to put the screws on us! The country needs mental health help if that holds out...

So it is a bit more challenging now for National and Luxon to get
themselves into Government. Over the last few weeks Labour have
benefited from 2 cyclones - this gets the PM into the news without any
other pollies being mentioned. This will fade. As with Ardern,
Hipkins does not do popular dissent well. To really do battle over
policies he is passionate about requires him to get angry and we saw
with Little where this can lead to.

National need to get Luxon into the news reports, reminding us that
only they can repeal 3-waters legislation (ie all of it) with other
    positive and popular policy solutions.

The "rally around the flag" bounce from the Cyclone won't last that long. A couple of months of Labour being useless managing the cleanup along with the cost of living, health, education and crime crises will destroy them in the election.

There is a gimmer of this, in Mondays report the stuff article said that Chippie would comment on the 3 waters situation in the near future.

This should bring up the matter again, and people may have done some
    thinking.

Did You Know (Facts not conveyed by NZ media)

To qualify for Nationals 54K ECE rebate, you must first pay 516K in
    total fees (per child).

Ram Raids have reduced 75% in 2023, and were not every 15 hours since
    a peak in mid 2022.

Consultant spending is actually declining from a Covid related peak,
and is otherwise comparable to global values.

14,000 more bureaucrats and consultants are due to increased
infrastructure builds in Health, Education, Transport and IT.

The OCR is actually 0.25% less than what was forecasted.

NZ Inflation is (significantly) less than our major OECD partners.

NZ Debt is Less than our OECD partners and comparable sized countries.

Our export earnings are at record highs,

We now have inaugural PTA's with EU & UK that will boost trade even
    further.

Esk Valley protest meetings were co-ordinated by a Conservative Party
    campaign chair.

Hamilton election Ram Raid and Sandringham Dairy saga's were
championed by a Rosetted National Party campaigner.

NZ is a top GDP performer pre & post Covid — because we protected our
    people and workforce.

Unemployment remains at near record lows despite minimum wage
    increases.

Overall wages have kept up with inflation, and were also ahead
    pre-Covid.

So what? National isn't the government!

Ram Raids have reduced 75% in 2023, and were not every 15 hours since

It's not even three months into 2023!

Consultant spending is actually declining from a Covid related peak,
and is otherwise comparable to global values.

but is it comparable to NZ values?

14,000 more bureaucrats and consultants are due to increased
infrastructure builds in Health, Education, Transport and IT.

Maybe so. but is it a case of they're needed or work for the commissars?

The OCR is actually 0.25% less than what was forecasted.

    So what?

NZ Inflation is (significantly) less than our major OECD partners.

So what? It's hurting many New Zealanders!

NZ Debt is Less than our OECD partners and comparable sized countries.

But the govt debt is, like inflation, at record highs!

Our export earnings are at record highs,

How does that help ordinary New Zealanders? Only puts more money in the governments pockets to waste on stupid things!!

We now have inaugural PTA's with EU & UK that will boost trade even

    So what?

Esk Valley protest meetings were co-ordinated by a Conservative Party campaign chair.

    So what?

Stop being a political ninconpoop Rich!

NZ is a top GDP performer pre & post Covid — because we protected our people and workforce.

Yet the government can't or doesn't want to keep energy costs down!

Unemployment remains at near record lows despite minimum wage
    increases.

Because more and more people are doing two jobs just to keep up with imflation!

Overall wages have kept up with inflation, and were also ahead
    pre-Covid.

    Bullshit!

and then there is this: https://www.1news.co.nz/2023/03/14/poll-labour-could-lead-coalition-govt-luxon-slumps-in-pm-ratings/

More bad news for New Zealand!
Now how about quitting with your usual political garbage and addressing Labours failure to achieve any of the policy's they promised along with Hipkins canning so many of the supposed essential bullshit policy's. Many of which have already cost us tens
