    The imbecile is hell bent on wasting billions of dollars on restoring trams to Auckland. Auckland got rid of the damn things because they caused congestion and were a hazard! Labour wants to waste more billions bringing the damn things back! Besides
    which the money earmarked for it would be better spent restoring cyclone damage!

    I agree that at a time when communities in Northland (as an example)
    have no road access (as at the time of writing, may only be a few says duration) the restoration of road transport links after weather-bomb destruction comes way before new public transport infrastructure of
    doubtful economic benefit to those living in parts of Auckland.
