• Organised hate speech

From Rich80105@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jan 23 18:15:11 2023
A new study confirms that hate speech has increased, and that much of
it was deliberately directed towards Jacinda Ardern: https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political/482961/nine-out-of-10-hateful-posts-tracked-in-darkest-corners-of-the-internet-targeted-ardern-new-study

Thebfd, so often referenced by JohnO and JOhn Bowes, was not listed specifically in the article, but it is an example of a
National-aligned website that is clerly guilty of such targetted and mysogynistic language - and Kiwiblog, while not itself using such
language, acts as always as a vehicle for more extreme comments - it
is not well moderated as the Labour/Green equivalent, The Standard.

National itself is fairly careful, but again their attacks,
refllecting their ''cult of a single leader'' have naturally been
addressed largely to Ardern personally - they have clearly tolerated
the extremes of the websites mentioned above. ACT have been gaining
ground by taking support from National, in part because Seymour is
careful not to indulge in such crude criticism, and discouraging it
from being seen to come from his supporters.

The assertions of innocence in these clearly orchestrated personal
attacks by the far-right posters to nz.general can be seen to be just
so much further lying from them - they are keen to spread the
nastiness, but cannot escape their personal culpability.

    You really are amazing Rich.

As I have pointed out, if the PM did not take the attiude that was taken,
less people would have been less angry.

As some commentators has pointed out it is rather surprising that the public was less restrained than it was.

As some commentators has pointed out it is rather surprising that the public >was less restrained than it was.

It started with the He Puapua report, commissioned in 2019 by Labour
without the knowledge of NZF (if Winston is to be believed) and
suppressed until it was leaked after the 2020 general election. That introduced the concept of co-government embedded in the Water reforms legislation that National has promised to repeal, where the
water-related assets of every local body in NZ will be controlled
    entirely by co-governed water entities.

I have not mentioned the fallout from the COVID19 pandemic - because
while it introduced developments that we would not wish to see
repeated it is a one-off event that can be used to inform reaction to
pandemic threats. Co-governance is forever and Labour are facing
electoral defeat because of it, as they deserve.

I do not in any way condone or support threats of violence against any
MP or their families. Those who wish to enter Parliament should be
free to do so without fear no matter what they say or do (unless they
break the law). Equally though, Labour need to understand the depth
of feeling that their actions have created with race-based privilege
that co-governance in the water reforms legislation has brought to the
table. The nutters are out there but so also is a major groundswell
of voters that will use their vote this year to reject co-governance
as defined in the Water reform legislation (stage 1 of the He Puapua implementation).

Utter garbage so typical of cretins like you Rich! The only reason The Stranded didn't attack Ardern's lack of completing policies and utter uselessness is they're as stupid as you Rich!

National itself is fairly careful, but again their attacks,

Who writes this garbage for you Rich? One of Ardern's many comms/propaganda agents?

What assertions of innocence are you on about Rich. All we've refused to accept is that our honest comments were at no time misogynistic but where honest opinions supported by lack of progress on Labours promises and Arderns' constant lying!

No good trying to explain anything to Rich. The fucking imbecile's to fucking stupid to learn or reason things out. Rich is just a Marxist misandrist who hates men :)

Demonstrate that I have often referenced thebfd? No?

Didn't think so. You are a lying piece of shit and nothing you say can be trusted.

Newsroom ran a new angle on this today:

Both the article and a rebuttal from Iain Macleod are much better food
for thought than the RNZ article.

I did not see the comments as a rebuttal at all; they put a slightly
different perspective on the article, but esentially agreed that abuse
    has become much more widespread.
