So just how does it compare to previous costs that the council had Rich? An article that doesn't compare past costs with the current ones isn't much use. Much like so many of your posts Rich. You're bloody good at screaming foul without any evidence to
    back it up...

From the man that wants to reduce salaries for Council staff, he is

$6000 a week strike you as attractive, John?

What where people in those positions paid when Goff and his replacement
were Mayor? That money is pretty standard for the government to pay
it's consultants. In fact compared with what the Labour government pays
it's consultants it looks like a pretty good deal :)

The Government is paying massive rent for a building in Wellington that
staff cannot use due to it not meeting earthquake protection
specifications. Not only that, but some idiot left all the lights, etc.
on inside when they left, so the government is also paying a huge
    electricity bill every month.

Dickbot is a small minded twit, as evidenced by the above post. $123K legal bill? Tiny compared to what you get with a Labour government. Trevor Mallard and Winston Peters created much larger legal bills under Labour governments by being unable to keep
    their mouths shut.

Let's not get started on billions wasted by Labour on unwanted, unvoted crap like Health centralisation, 5 Waters, Tech Institute centralisation and so on.

An acting chief of staff $6k per week sounds quite normal. If that's a 40 hour week (it could be a lot more) that's $150 an hour. Not that much more than an electrician's call-out rate. What makes Dickbot thing that this is abnormal? Perhaps Dickbot is
hiding from the real problem: massive inflation and massive staff shortages caused by the incompetent, destructive and divisive Labour government. That there is the root of the problem.

Rich is just on one of his 'it's not being done by Labour so it must be bad" kicks JohnO. so as usual he goes off half cocked and also as usual doesn't think things through. So typical of Richie's "scientiphic"approach to posting :)

It's not a salary - it is a temporary contract until a staff member is recruited. Temps cost more. If you ever had a real job you'd understand this, Dickbot.

$6000 a week strike you as attractive, John?

Sounds normal for a high level temp position.

A bit too much logic there JohnO - Rich is clearly trying to paint the Taxpayers Union as anti-Labour. Having said that it would seem that
the Taxpayers Union sister organisation the 'Auckland Ratepayers
Alliance' will have something to say on this in the near future.
