Time to stop the pussy-footing. We must not allow these morons to do whatever they want.
If I disobey the law I accept the consequences, time we enforced that for gangs also.

It seems though that the Police wont come gunning for you while you
are up to your antics though:

"McDaniel said it was not always possible for police to intervene
immediately in every situation of potential offending, given the
    safety risks.

”This decision-making takes into consideration the safety of our
staff, the public and other road users.”

    ---

So if you are aggressive enough the Police will not come after you at
the time. A bit like the speeders who don't stop for the Police - the
faster you flee the greater the chance that the Police will give up
    chasing you.

Yes I agree. But hopefully something after the event is worthwhile.

While I agree that the announcement is excellent, I do not see it as
just a start - it is a continuation of current policy; but the
expression of it at this time is relevant for the gangs.

While we have a lot more police than we had a few years ago, they
cannot be everywhere; but statements like the one reported can have an
    effect on those being warned.

You must know that the police never have and never will catch all
criminals - and it is well known that among those areas with less
success than others are so-called 'white-collar' crimes. Not as
newsworthy as violent yobs like the gangs or the Christchurch shooter
or the yob protestors at parliament, but with a disproprtionate
    financial effect.

The police have never been pussy-footing - they work as effectively as
they can with the resources made available by government. That they
are able to do more now is a reflection on the better level of
    resources they currently have.

Yes - the statement is that gang activity that is illegal may be
revisited after the event by the Police and offenders may be
apprehended. I am sure such offenders will feel the effects - of
    their laughter.

The article was about a specific incident where widespread lawless

Yes I agree. But hopefully something after the event is worthwhile.

While I agree that the announcement is excellent, I do not see it as
just a start - it is a continuation of current policy; but the
expression of it at this time is relevant for the gangs.

Why then do the Police need to announce a crackdown on criminal
activity that occurred in the past?
To assure the public that some offending had not been ignored?

While we have a lot more police than we had a few years ago, they
cannot be everywhere; but statements like the one reported can have an >>>effect on those being warned.

Yes - the statement is that gang activity that is illegal may be
revisited after the event by the Police and offenders may be
apprehended. I am sure such offenders will feel the effects - of
    their laughter.
Not what I read into the quotation above. Police cannot be everywhere
that an offence may be committed - expecting them to be at or near
every gang meeting for example is clearly not justified.

You must know that the police never have and never will catch all >>>criminals - and it is well known that among those areas with less
success than others are so-called 'white-collar' crimes. Not as >>>newsworthy as violent yobs like the gangs or the Christchurch shooter
or the yob protestors at parliament, but with a disproprtionate

The police have never been pussy-footing - they work as effectively as >>>they can with the resources made available by government. That they
are able to do more now is a reflection on the better level of
    resources they currently have.

The article was about a specific incident where widespread lawless
activity went on without Police attending. Your rhetoric above is >>questionable but off-topic because what you claim was not referenced
    in the article.
The specifics of the article were not referenced by the more general
    comments of the OP.
OK that is true. But the article was, I assumed, going to be read by intelligent people. Obviously in your case I was optimistic.
Read the article, the specifics are clear within it.

success than others are so-called 'white-collar' crimes. Not as
newsworthy as violent yobs like the gangs or the Christchurch shooter
or the yob protestors at parliament, but with a disproprtionate
    financial effect.

The police have never been pussy-footing - they work as effectively as >> >they can with the resources made available by government. That they

Youhave added nothing and introduced thinly veiled political commentary in a
post that had no political intent.
Plus nothing to support his claim we now have enough police...
I did not make that claim; certainly numbers are only one factor -
many of the new police officers employed by the new government will
now have sufficient experience to make a real difference; one aim
becoming more possible is not just to catch and punish, but to prevent
    crime in the first place.
So this was just more of your typical bullshit then Rich "While we have a lot more police than we had a few years ago, they cannot be everywhere; but statements like the one reported can have an
effect on those being warned." Or just yet another of your unsubstantiated Ăłpinions'?

To me this whole sitaution is a cop out.

Take the case of a parent, do they let John and Jill run wild while they are
in their present and then a couple of days later tackle John and Jill on
    what they have done?

If we do not have enough Police for them to appear on the scene then we need more Police.

As it is the crimnals are allowing to do the deed and then maybe but some punishment. Part of the Police going to the scene while it is happening is
to stop the situation from getting out of hand.

    All correct Gordon.
If we cannot stop them as they do the crime then we have a problem that needs solving. And that is what Rich totally failed to acknowledge with his childishness and sarcasm.
He will never understand that, it is missing from his DNA.

As we have seen from some situations overseas - for example at sports
games) it is important that the presence of police does not inflame
situations and cause tragedy from offences which could be handled more
quietly at the time but with follow up. Some countries arm their
police with more resources for filming; I suspect that in some
situations it is to the advantage of the police to have all members
wearing a body camera so that stored images from each person are
    available subsequently.

I am sure we can agree that it is good that the police are able to
follow up on possible crimes, even if they cannot be everywhere at
once; that morons no longer have the ability to do whatever they want,
and that the law is now able to be better enforced than was prevously
possible. And of course that neither you or I are being political in
wecoming this change of circumstances. . . . - even if you cannot
always be civil to other posters.

To me this whole sitaution is a cop out.

Take the case of a parent, do they let John and Jill run wild while they are >>in their present and then a couple of days later tackle John and Jill on >>what they have done?

If we do not have enough Police for them to appear on the scene then we need >>more Police.

As it is the crimnals are allowing to do the deed and then maybe but some >>punishment. Part of the Police going to the scene while it is happening is >>to stop the situation from getting out of hand.

As we have seen from some situations overseas - for example at sports
games) it is important that the presence of police does not inflame >situations and cause tragedy from offences which could be handled more >quietly at the time but with follow up. Some countries arm their
police with more resources for filming; I suspect that in some
situations it is to the advantage of the police to have all members
wearing a body camera so that stored images from each person are
    available subsequently.
Totally off topic but there you nearly always are.

No, just BR and now you Tony misinterpteing a clear fact.
For example, do you want armed police in every retail store to stop
    shoplifting and ram raids?

Do you want police in your home to prevent family violence?

Will you keep being stupid in misinterpreting posts?

Why would you want that - I don't.

Do you want police in your home to prevent family violence?
There is no family violence in my home, but in your case, perhaps that would be necessary.

Will you keep being stupid in misinterpreting posts?
You showed you idiocy, and Bill picked up on it - good on him; time and time again you deliberately twist what others write - you are a fraud.

Arising from your stupid and incorrect reference to ""law of
unintended consequences"", I made the point that it was a clear misinterpretation, and asked you a simple question to illustrate that
    - naturally you misunderstood, but you did concede that you do not
want police to be everywhere that an offence may be committed.

Do you want police in your home to prevent family violence?
There is no family violence in my home, but in your case, perhaps that would be
    necessary.

Now you appear to be advocating for police to be in at least some
homes to prevent fmaily violence - clearly yur stupidity knows no
bounds in your determination to never agree with anything . . .

Will you keep being stupid in misinterpreting posts?
You showed you idiocy, and Bill picked up on it - good on him; time and time >again you deliberately twist what others write - you are a fraud.
I merely apply logic - I would recommend that you think about that at
least, and if you cannot have logical thoughts just read posts from
    others and hopefully learn . . .

Your comment was exactly what I descibed - it opbeyed the said law. You know it, I know it and only you are the fool here.

Wrong, I am advocating nothing. Merely wondering why you would advocate such a thing. That was your clear intention otherwise why ask such a pitifully stupid question, so why did you ask it?

You are a fraud, you blame others for not having lofic when you have proven hundreds of times that you cannot follow simple logical steps.
Keep it up you perverse little man - and one day you might grow some sense even at your advanced age.
