This is much better than boot-camps or putting 10 year old s in prison
    or giving them monitoring bracelets.

What is surprising is that there was no previous reporting that I am
    aware of for the trial.

Hopefully it will work as well as claimed. However kids being kids I'm wondering if this sort of thing will change the attitude of those like you who get pleasure out of bullying Rich...

Well fancy that - a totally unsupported opinion.

This initiative was first reported on early last year. Guess like his chosen government Rich is late and soft...

Here's another interesting link going back in time. An interesting comment was this :Drug and alcohol abuse and bullying in schools are only symptoms of the real problems students face, Yvonne says. "The biggest problems in our schools today, we believe,
are separation, isolation and loneliness," she says. "If our kids are feeling lonely, it's not because there's a lack of people. It's because there's a lack of love and connection between them."

So it seems it's not just Challenge Days required but a rethink in the education system which should include more history than the pre European history.

I think there is a vast difference between dealing with young crims an
bullying in schools. Equating the two is irrational unless this has
been done successfully with 'Challenge Day' elsewhere.

What is surprising is that there was no previous reporting that I am
    aware of for the trial.

That is because it was initiated by a teacher who made an effort with
the approval of her Headmaster. There was clearly no additional
    government funding or involvement.

Thanks Crash, and another poster located a news report on the
    programme from some time ago.

Once again we have confustion applied.

The boot camps are about crime reduction.

The link is about bullying in schools, peer pressure. About the only
connection is that there is an anti social element in both.
