    1. The last post in newsgroup rec.travel.australia+nz was some
    months ago. Checked on several NNTP servers.
    2. Google started doing this with other groups some years ago,
    for example <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/misc.test>
    3. Google didn't care about posting the accused's name itself.

    +1. In the Usenet space, Google is a latecomer and Google groups is
    probably the only entity that they host but don't own. If ever there
    was a good reason to cancel out of using Google groups this is it. Unfortunately many users will most likely be unaware of the
    distinction between Usenet and Google groups.
