    E-S is back

Got your test message from AIOE, and later from ES to my individual.net
    server.

    http://www.eternal-september.org/serverstatus.php?language=en

Doesn't show zero volume, so their servers were up and handling some
    traffic.

Too late now, but next time maybe do a traceroute to see if a host in
the route between you and ES went dead or became super slow.

ES does seem very slow, though. I just newly subscribed to
eternal-september.support, and retrieving 6K+ articles is taking a long
time. In the time to write up this reply while checking with a
tracerout along with an interruption, only about 500 articles were
retrieved; however, instead of retrieving just the overview headers, I
retrieve full articles (headers+body) which lets me test on all headers,
not just the overview headers, for more robust filtering.

Did a traceroute to news.eternal-september.org. Nothing unusual. There
was a sudden increase in delay, but that's due to routing along the
undersea cable between continents (New York to France), and no big jumps
    thereafter.

I'm not bothered about E-S now that it's back, but I do like Paganini which has been fine up until today.

    Paganini back this morning. :)
