  • does nntp have to be connected to smtp

    So as you can see I'm using from seth@home.sethhurst.com, The question
    is do I have to be connected to a smtp server or have a pop server on my network. I would assume that that would only be for sending private
    messages?

    For moderated groups you'll need a way to send mail, yes.
