From jdanield@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jan 25 12:29:26 2022
    Hello,

I fail to understand what must be done with mailpost -a and ~news/moderators

    mailpost man page says:

    -a addr
If the -a flag is used, the value given is added to the
    article as an Approved: header.

    what is "addr"?

whatever I set there I get

"You are not allowed to approve postings inews: article not posted
    "

    I see

    Approved: culte.test@ns507557.dodin.fr.nf

    in the mail source

    my present alias line is:

    test: \test,jdd@dodin.org, "| /usr/lib/news/bin/mailpost -a culte.test
    -b /var/tmp -t /var/tmp -d local culte.test"

    and in ~news/moderators I tried

    culte.test:test@culte.org

    or

    culte.test:culte.test@ns507557.dodin.fr.nf

I receive the message on the mailing list, but not on the group

    thanks
    jdd

    I got more logs

the Approved header is set as the "-a test@culte.org" of the alias line,
but the moderator file don't do it's job with

    culte.test:test@culte.org

sur" something is wrong, but what?

    thanks

    Bonsoir Jean-Daniel,

I fail to understand what must be done with mailpost -a and
    ~news/moderators

    mailpost man page says:

    -a addr
If the -a flag is used, the value given is added to the article as an Approved: header.

    what is "addr"?>
whatever I set there I get

"You are not allowed to approve postings inews: article not posted
    "

These are good points (what is "addr" and how to fix the inews error).
I've updated the mailpost man page:

    -a addr
If the -a flag is used, addr (which is usually the e-mail address
of the poster) is added to the article as the body of an Approved
header field. It is useful if one of the newsgroup to which the
article should be posted is moderated. (Of course, this flag
should be added only if you are supposed to auto-approve your
    posts.)

Be sure that the reader connection made by inews to post the
article is allowed to post approved articles (see the "A" letter in
the access parameter of access blocks in readers.conf).

I hope it will give you a hint to make it work :-)
