    hello,

    If I'm not on the right forum, please let me know...

    For some month I'm on the way of building a new usenet server with INN,
    but family involvement don't give me all the time I would like, so it's
    very slow.

    I managed such a server some years ago, but only for a private gateway
    with a linux user group mailing list, with no feed

    just now I hit an error message

    ctlinnd: ovmethod must be set in inn.conf if enableoverview is true

    I don't remember having seen this previously, and google says there are
    are several options, but I didn't find what is the preferred one

    this new server is aimed to share the fr* hierarchy

    tradindexed is the default and probably what you should use if you have no special requirements.

    I'm assuming from this error that you may not have started with the
    inn.conf file in the samples directory, which has all of the mandatory
    options filled in. You may want to consider starting with that file when configuring a new server.

    I would suggest tradindexed (or ovsqlite for INN 2.7.0 and later).

    INN is not a GNU NNTP server, just an NNTP server.

    you forgot to fill in the 'overmethod' parameter inside inn.conf
    if you enable the overview, which is used to allow clients to read the articles, you must also set an overview format
