I have seen similar messages when posting on E-S. In my case it
occurs when I followup to articles posted by someone who is using
a home-made posting agent which is not standards-compliant and
somehow breaks the References.

I'm sure you do, Adam.

There are examples of his work in alt.free.newsservers;
you can't miss them.

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
I have used 21st century technology to compose this post to make it easier for people to read the message in hypertext. I used a DELL keyboard to compose this message.

Users of servers operated by German neo-nazi or italian mafia won't be able to see this post on their machine.

You can't rely on E-S or AIOE. They have taken the role of
censoring users and so some links are likely to be broken. Server
Administrators should refrain from becoming "Judge, Jury and
Executioners". Some posters are not using their servers and still
their posts are blocked from AIOE and E-S. They censor them just
because they don't like the name or the colour or the smell of the

They [ server administrators ] have become criminally insane and

Hi Paolo,

I've migrated from inn 2.5 to 2.6 two days ago

i find in my logs about one hundred of lines like this:

Jul 21 09:31:21 gioia nnrpd[19433]: [SOURCE IP ADDRES] post failed
Invalid syntax encountered in Subject: header field body (unexpected
byte or empty content line)

what does this error mean?

Couldn't you update to INN 2.6.4?
Russ improved that log line in this version, so that the culprit header
is mentioned in the log.

This log basically means an header field contains control characters or
only contains whitespace characters.
Per RFC 5537 Section 3.5, an injecting agent (like nnrpd) MUST reject
any proto-article that is not syntactically valid as defined by RFC
5536. This check was added in INN 2.6.1.
