Here's an oddity:
Someone has accumulated 198,783 email addresses, all in the .CA top
level domain, and inserted them into a listserve running the popular
Mailman mailing list manager. It appears to be the only list running
on the server.
http://primaria-calimanesti.ro/mailman/listinfo/email_primaria-calimanesti.ro/
I've received routine Mailman notification (including server-assigned >password) for May, June and July. I've never received any user-posted >messages from the list. Grepping their subscriber list, I turned up
five acquaintances who are on another (largely local) mailing list.
Needless to say, neither I nor they ever subscribed to the list.
I have no notion why email-owner@primaria-calimanesti.ro, whoever that
might be, would collect so many user@host.CA addresses and then plug
them into Mailman.
Comments or candidate explanations of why/how this might happen welcome.
(Yes, after downloading the subscriber list, I unsubscribed using their
web interface.)

There are 3 entries from the nl2k.ab.ca domain in the subscriber list.
The address under which you're posting to nanae isn't on the list but
a different one @doctor.nl2k.ab.ca is.
FWIW,

I note I never signed up for such a service.

Thank you, yads. Mike Spencer noted that "Someone has accumulated 198,783 >email addresses. . . ", that no email user willingly gave the list owner
his email address. That includes you. At no point did anyone on or off
Usenet in this universe or any other universe, at this point in history
or at any point in the past or future, think that any one of these people, >including you, subscribed his own email address.
