• What was that version of FF with web page saving as pdf ?

    From B Barnett@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 3 02:32:39 2021
It appears that Windows 10 Pro comes with a free "Microsoft print to PDF" driver. There are also addons for FF that will save to PDF.

Firefox has been opening PDF's in a tab for a long time now. The tab has
    a download button.

Doesn't the OP mean "printing" a page, where you select a virtual PDF
    printer as the Destination?

That's an option that has existed for a long, long time.
But an add-on is an option too: https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/addon/save-as-pdf/
Personally I prefer the virtual printer, because it works
not only for FF, but for anything you want to "print" as
    pdf in Win.

There is also a "Print" button in the tab, which gives the user the
    option to "Save to PDF".

At an OS level, yes. But this is a FF feature.

But an add-on is an option too:

You don't need an addon. It's part of FF, since v86. See:

    Yes, I believe so.

Here, selecting Print for any FF page offers all available printers,
including "...to PDF". (I just tested it). Of course, how much of the
page actually prints is controlled server-side.

If OP doesn't see Print to PDF, I wonder whether they have Print to PDF available at all.

    Best,

In addition to "Print to PDF" which (if it exists at all) is provided by
the operating system, the latest firefox offers "Save to PDF" even if
the operating system has no printers.

Either I install "that" old version (if possible) or switch to an
    other browser.

Think you must have been imagining it, never known a firefox with "save
as PDF" functionality, you could print to a PDF driver, or maybe you
    were using something chromium based?

Glad question was asked and wondered and now I see on my 86.0 on file -
print I can save as PDF.
