• Ad 2nd gmail to TB 78 All goes well until 'done' button, but...

From Kingdaddy@21:1/5 to All on Sat Mar 13 12:24:27 2021
With both gmail accounts logged off, And existing gmail server
configures to NOT check for mail... is my attempt to have as clean a
    testing environment.

Add second email.gmail to TB clears login test, and all other settings
    and enable the 'done' button.

Click 'done' and it goes to google
    "One account. All of Google"
Sign in with your Google Account
    Email or Phone
    "Next"

    It is recursive retries.

"Find my account" link goes to google help Recovery email or phone
number (I think it means smart phone, which I don't have).

so I tried my flip phone, expecting a text.

It goes to a help page about cookies

Anyway... TB is done but has not entered the configuration into TB.

Since manaual logging in to the new account works,
What is TB needing to add the account? a beg or a bribe?

    It needs cookies allowed.

Adding first Gmail account to Thunderbird I entered my name and email
address in the account creation dialog and left the password field empty.

Clicked "Continue", selected IMAP and clicked "Done".

The Google window with my email address for OAuth2 authorization opened, clicked "Next" to enter the password.

Entered the password and the window asking me to "Allow" Thunderbird
opened. Allowed TB and the account was created.

Repeated the process for account #2 and my roommates account months ago.

    More Information;
I am on Windows seven, so...

I switched to another WINDOWS user which has Thunderbird installed,
    and only one TB-email account...
(Same main TB-user on both Windows accounts,
and all went well. It is done.

    What was different?
When I clicked the "Done" button In "TB install", here is what's
missing: (the defect on 2nd gmail account) on completed first Windows user.

    ===========================================================
GMAIL popped a window asking for permission:

    Quote:
Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access
    your Google account
    (the new email address here)

This will allow Mozilla Thunderbird Email to:
Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all you email from Gmail =============================================================

THAT POPUP is what's NOT HAPPENING <===

Could that be because the First gmail was already ALLOWED, many months
ago, so now this second gmail user (a defect?)doesn't need it in
    gmail... but should?

    Conclusion:
Thunderbird is not granting Gmail... permission to make changes in TB
because the "Allow" never happened from TB to Gmail due to missing pop-up.

It works okay in the other Windows-user on same PC because no gmail has
    been added yet.
