Is this down to Firefox repeatedly annoying the hell out of their
user-base with changes nobody had expected nor wanted? I see FF and
Safari (which is missing from that chart) were slugging it out for
months before FF dipped and Safari hopped in September.
I wonder what the the remaining 7.4% uses. Brave? Vivaldi? IE?
    Seamonkey!

Have UI refreshes typically been received well by users? Not IME,

Proton will fix everything I am sure :)

    WaltS48:

If the users turned off telemetry so Mozilla doesn't know what the users
    are using in the browser.

    Don't complain.

If you rely mostly on telemetry you are more than halfway there to loose touch with your user base and that is one of the problems. And if you use telemetry to justify ripping out parts power users rely on you are going even further,

Who are these power users?  what exactly do they do with the browser or

They are but there are also the ones usually asked what software to install or fix the problems. So loose them and you loose much more. Just my 2 cents. ymmv

As well as the evangelists and zealots who are the most needed group to
get others to use the product. Once a product looses them, their growth subsides and their market share dwindles.

Down be so hasty in your conclusion. It's been said that the
wealthiest 1% own far more than 1/2 of the world's wealth. The
smallest minority can affect the largest of the majority. Just sayin'.
