Sarah Bird selected for Streep screenwriting lab

Austin novelist Sarah Bird is one of 12 screenwriters
selected for the inaugural year of Meryl Streep's Writers
Lab.
Streep fully funds the program, coordinated by New York
Women in Film & Television and the Iris film collective.
The program helps women over 40 develop their scripts.
The Writers Lab received more than 3,500 submissions, so
Bird's selection is quite a coup.
