"New double-decker and single-decker trains worth nearly BGN 1 billion
will be purchased by the Bulgarian Railways, Deputy Transport Minister
Iliya Iliev announced in Veliko Tarnovo. The tender procedure will start
by the end of the month.

BDZ plans to purchase seven double-decker trains and 35 single-decker
trains, as well as 18 shunting electric locomotives. They will have digitalization systems that will ensure security.

The double-decker trains will serve the large passenger flow in the
Sofia region, the single-decker trains will be for three agglomerations
    - Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo.

There are also 20 trains for Intercity trains, which are a locomotive
plus four wagons for close city distances. The procedure is part of the Recovery and Sustainability Plan. The tender forms have been prepared
and accepted by the Ministry of Finance and are to be sent to the
European Commission. Upon approval, the delivery is expected to be
available within three years, according to the plan's regulations, Iliev
said. The same plan envisages the construction of an Intermodal terminal
in Ruse, which is in the completed project phase."

    Cheers,

Those will be multiple units, I guess.

Whatever this might be in Bulgaria.

„Leg space not needed as we plan for short travel times“?

I looked it up, not the translator to blame.

    And short passengers, presumably…

    Sorry.

The usenet term I should have used reads as follows: 'virtually no legroom'.

I realised that, it just amused me.
