• Reusing FBAR

From Lawrence Israel@21:1/5 to All on Mon May 16 15:27:13 2022
The FBAR form seems basically (except for some headers) unchanged for years. I don't want to copy all the information about the places about which I have to report. I tried cut-and-paste from last year's form to this year's, both leaving last year's
signed, and removing the signature. Neither worked.

Could I just un-sign last year's form, put in the new amounts, re-sign, and submit the form?

The following is based on just looking at the FBAR E-Filing page and
    playing with the form.

Assumingg you are using the pdf version method found here: https://bsaefiling.fincen.treas.gov/NoRegFBARFiler.html, the saved pdf
file from the last filing can be modified to remove the signature,
change the tax year, change the filename, resign it and save it.
As I can not test the "Submit" process, I would hope that the site would
allow the submission of a newly named file.

Yes, I've been doing that for a long time, and they always accept it.

It was nominally due in April but everyone got an automatic extension to October.
