• Economic Impact Payments

From Lawrence Israel@21:1/5 to All on Sun Apr 18 15:15:32 2021
I got only the first payment, by direct deposit, last year, and no form 1444s. I am overseas, and I am not eligible for e-filing because of some forms limitations. My daughter received neither payment nor 1444.Before filing my 2020 taxes I would like
to know if Uncle Sam thinks I received any more money, and the same for my daughter.

We an not do an on-line check because we don't have US telephone numbers, nor credit cards. Debit cards are not enough.

Should we try to get a transcript of the 2020 accounts by mail? Or just assume that what we have was what the IRS thinks was sent?

You can file your tax return based on what you received, If
you claim a recovery rebate credit higher than what the IRS
thinks you are entitled to, they will just make the
correction when they process your return, and send you a
    letter explaining what they did.

Still another complication. Because my daughter did not have a bank account to which money can be deposited, last year with "Get My Payment" I put in my bank account number. Now I see $1,400 twice. I tried to use "Get My Payment" both on my account and
my daughter's. I keep getting a message that the service is unavailable. Perhaps it is because I have a foreign address. Or because it gives as an example an address with St not having a period after it, and I put in a period. Or because I used my local
7-digit Zip code. Or because I assumed that what follows the crosshatch in the example is the apartment number. Or because I have always tried when the system was down. The bank listing does have ORIG ID: followed by a 10-digit number after it. Can that
be used to identify the supposed recipient?
