Yesterday, the California Legislature passed Assembly Bill 28, to place an excise tax of 11% on the sales price of all firearms, firearm precursor
parts, and ammunition. These taxes are to be collected from California retailers and placed in a newly created “gun violence” fund for
appropriation by the state legislature. It now goes to Governor Gavin
Newsom’s desk for his consideration. Please contact Gov. Newsom and ask
    him to VETO AB 28.

In addition, the other anti-gun bills still remain eligible for floor
votes. Please continue to contact your legislators and ask them to OPPOSE
    these bills.
