If your chickens come as straight run day olds when you know which is
which, off the extra roosters. I keep my hens in the coup and yard with
only one rooster. I let my extra roosters and non laying overage hens
walk bug patrol on the rest of the property.

One thing I have noted over the many years of raising chickens....if they have soemthing on the top of the wire such as a board or something thicker to land on they will fly up and over but just fencing they typically dont just fly over.
