    iOS 13.3
o ZDNET: Apple's latest iOS update is truly getting on my nerves <https://www.zdnet.com/article/apples-latest-ios-update-is-truly-getting-on-my-nerves/>
"Software updates are supposed to make things better.
Not always, it seems. Not this one, certainly.
And it's affecting something very basic."

"With this new update, when the Mail app tells me I have a new email
I open it. Then I wait. One second becomes five. Five seconds become 10.
I start becoming annoyed -- well, my version of annoyed which involves
a lot of deep sighing. Eventually, the emails splutter out.

*It's as if the Mail app is on dial-up* while the rest of my phone
is in the new world. Of course, this is mere first-world whining.
Yet it seems so basic as to be deserving of sighs."

What's interesting is that Apple owners _expect_ primitive functionality!

"I know I should be whining about the battery life on my XR ...
Ever since I embraced iOS 13, the battery life has plummeted.
This 13.3 was supposed to make it better. It hasn't.
*Yet I tolerate it because I have so little faith in [iPhones]*
over time. *I expect [iPhones] to deteriorate*. I expect them
to be slower. *I expect [iPhones] to lose battery life*."
